Brag'n Board: June 2001
Our needed showers are showing up just
about every afternoon. Most times they turn on Okeechobee's trophy
bass. At other times they shut them down. The lake is still low,
however the showers have added several inches of water to it.
Best fishing is still in the canals. Especially during the afternoon
showers. Trophy bass forecast is expected to be good to excellent
this month due to the low water conditions which has the trophy
bass trapped in the deep water canals. Harney Pond Canal where
the last BASSMASTER Eastern Invitational tournament was held
(Jan. 11 - 13, 2001) and won, and Sportsman Canal are the 2 major
canals where all of our fishing is being conducted is producing
good size bass for our clients. I have been fishing out on Lake
Okeechobee every morning since April and am catching some really
good size bass. These trophy size bass are posted on the April and May brag'n board.

bass that included a 6 1/4 and a 6 lb'er during 3 days (June 4 - 6, 2001) of wild
shiner bass fishing with Captain Ron. Darren caught the 6 1/4
and 6 lb'er. I fished the Point Of The Reef out on Lake Okeechobee
during our morning sessions of fishing and Lake Okeechobee's
Sportsman Canal during our afternoon sessions of fishing.2003
