Florida Shiner Bass Fishing Report: September 2001

florida bass fishingFlorida bass fishing reports for each month of the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years that describe the amount and size of bass caught, the Florida shiner and artificial lure fishing techniques used by guides to catch them, the areas of Lake Okeechobee that produced the best bass fishing action, and other bass fishing information is contained in our Florida bass fishing reports. To ensure validity the angler's name, address, city, state, phone number, e-mail address, date and year the party fished is also included in every fishing report.

Seasonal heavy rain storms are adding inches of water to Lake Okeechobee. The Lake is now up to 11.9. Bass boats are able to get out on the lake. The cooler mornings and evenings during this time of the year should really turn the trophy bass fishing on. Expect to see schooling bass hitting shad in the open areas of the lake. Grass lines are beginning to form all around on the lake.

FLORIDA SHINER BASS FISHING REPORT:
September 29, 2001

Florida shiner bass fishing anglers Greg Pearce (Orlando, FL - ph: 407-859-0505) and Pete Van Den Berg (Wilderness, South Africa - e-mail: Petervan@cfan.org) put up with light to heavy rain showers and gale force winds all day during their wild shiner bass fishing trip on September 29, 2001 with Captain Ron. Although these conditions made the fishing difficult, Pete did manage to catch and released a 6 1/2 lb. and 5 1/2 lb. bass. Three channel catfish up to 5 lbs were also boated. Bass and catfish were caught in the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

Dear Ron.

Thank you for an outstanding days fishing on Lake Okeechobee. You are a true
professional who took us to where the fish were and gave us the right tips
to help us hook them. Even though it was a 'difficult' day for most other
fishermen, you persisted and found the fish, making us look great!

As a result I now have a 'six-and-a-half-pound-Bass-smile' on my face!

I will enthusiastically recommend your services to all my fishing buddies.

Thanks again.

Peter van den Berg
Wilderness, South Africa

p.s. I will be very pleased to get the photographs of the fish via email.

We had a great time. The airboat ride was fun and both of you were very
nice and accomodating. We only wish that we had caught that bass of a
lifetime. But that is the luck of fishing. We will tell others of your
service and hope to send you some customers in the future.
