Florida Shiner Bass Fishing Report: January 2001

The Florida bass fishing has been poor during this month because of the severe cold front conditions that hit Florida. Lake Okeechobee's bass spawn never really took place because of these conditions. A good percentage of our guide fishing parties despite the terrible weather conditions managed to catch fish.

Florida bass fishing reports for each month of the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years that describe the amount and size of bass caught, the Florida bass fishing techniques used by guides to catch them, the areas of Lake Okeechobee that produced the best bass fishing action, and other bass fishing information is contained in our Florida bass fishing reports. FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: JANUARY 29-31, 2001

Bruce Edwards (Buford, GA - ph: 770-978-9103) caught and released about 30 up to 6 lbs. during 3 days (Jan. 29 - 31, 2001) of wild shiner fishing. with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal cuts on Lake Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: JANUARY 19-21, 2001

Rick Frazier (Oceanside, NY - e-mail: rfrazie2@optonline.net), Bill Holohan (Westbrook, CT - pe-mail: wholohan@cshore.com), Earl Eibach (Merrick, NY - e-mail: bachscan@aol.com) and Mickey Newbeck (N. Massapequa, NY - e-mail: newbeck's@optonline.net) caught and released about 20 bass that included a 6 1/4 and a 6 1/2 lb'er during 2 days (Jan. 19 - 21, 2001) of wild shiner fishing during a severe cold front condition that hit Florida. Rick caught the 6 1/4 lb'er. in the Sportsman Canal area during their afternoon session of shiner fishing. Bill nailed the 6 1/2 lb'er in the Sportsman Canal area of Lake Okeechobee during their morning session of shiner fishing. This group who combined a wild boar hunting trip with their fishing did manage to bag 4 wild hogs during a morning of wild boar hunting (January 19, 2001) in the sugar cane fields of Glades county. All kills were made with a bow!

Alex Schiffgens (Derry, NH - ph: 603-421-0516 - e-mail: ASCHIFFGEN@aol.com) and Brad Fitzgerald (Plaiston, NH) caught and released about 20 bass up to 4 lbs during 3 days (Jan. 28 - 30, 2001) of wild shiner fishing during a severe cold front condition that hit Florida. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond and Sportsman's canal areas of Lake Okeechobee.

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.
Required Deposit for 3rd. person is $100.00
