Florida Bass Fishing Report:
February 2001

florida wild shiner fishingFebruary bass fishing got off to a slow start due to the cold fronts of January which put the water temperature of the lake in the low 50's - 60's. The lake and canals had plenty of beds that were abandoned because of the fronts. Okeechobee's bass spawn on the February moon (Feb. 8th) was non-existent and slight if a few bass did spawn. The new moon (Feb. 23) spawn had some fish on the beds. We expect an excellent spawn for the March and April spawn this year. The low water conditions will greatly help in making the trophy size bass very easy to catch this year.

Florida bass fishing reports for each month of the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years that describe the amount and size of bass caught, the Florida shiner and artificial lure fishing techniques used by guides to catch them, the areas of Lake Okeechobee that produced the best bass fishing action, and other bass fishing information is contained in our Florida bass fishing reports. To ensure validity the angler's name, address, city, state, phone number, e-mail address, date and year the party fished is also included in every fishing report.

Check out our Florida Bass Fishing Special Rate listed below.

Lake Okeechobee's low water conditions which has congregated the bass in the deep water areas of the lake, making them easier to catch, is really helping my guide parties land some good size bass. Trophy bass fishing forecast for the March and April spawn under the low water conditions should be the best ever.

Thanks for posting the pics on the bragn' board so soon. They look great!!!
The fish, I mean. Speaking for the both of us, we had a great time. We only
wish we could've stayed longer. Our guide was an excellent guide and good
company. He was very patient and kept us entertained the entire time. You
are lucky to have someone like him working with you.
In total we caught 9 fish, and saw 3 gators! Maybe next time the condition
of the lake will be a bit better.
Good Luck,
A. Massa
